Writing
Pictures and Sunsets
Over now and
Swirling starlight broke open the
Earth and I laughed
Quietly and
Curled down handwriting in a broken
Attempt to be a pretty girl
And not this
Singing maniac with her
Hair on anti-highlight and eyes
All open wide and seeing everything but
Nothing
She stood
And stared
And danced in her mind on perfect seas and
Water comes up around her feet like
Iron
Heavy like iron
Drowning
Laughing
Picturing her sunset and her lifetime
Not a pretty girl says the sunshine
Not a pretty girl in her dresses and sashes and overdosed night times
June Anna monitor glow upside down eyes and the
Scarlet tips of her hair
Dipped in ink
Nails coloured in with child crayons
All lined up all
Perfectly soldiered
Toy box and whales and I never
Stopped thinking of her
Drowning
Laughing
Picturing her sunset and her lifetime
