Writing

Overdue Dreams, Library Fines and Torn paper

Through easy breathing half hours and
Time floods and pretty landscapes I never
SAW but only glanced through and
Disembodied and ignored
You analyse and never dream
Slipping sums
Slipping suns
Over-done weather reports I
Smile.

Background-music, ancient chewing gum
I'm forever cemented to the underside of broken desks
She laughs in her head and spits onto ancient paving stones
She's a bruised soul
A picture even
You find her on those one-of-a-kind websites
Where the winter never quiet broke over but you find yourself wishing
You could look away.

Piano music drifting chords and long drawn out
Violin singers
Sit in silence and WRITE
Sit in silence and SEE
Over-due dreams, library fines and torn paper
Pencil lines wrapping around a body
Wrapping around a face and a laugh that
No one hears but me
And you if you'd try but you won't you catch the
Butterflies and thumb in indentations like
Sugar.

You never were a sundress girl.
Were you now?
